The objective of the Sea Cadet Corps builds in every cadet a sense of patriotism, courage, self-reliance and
confidence; those qualitites which will mould good moral character and citizenship. It also aims to raise the prestige of
a naval career. A proportion of cadets join the RNZN or other Armed Forces when they leave Sea Cadets, but it is emphasized
that the choice of such a career is by no means compulsory.
